Some important points to remember
If a, b, c are any three whole numbers, then
- a - b is not always a whole number
- a ÷ b is not always a whole number
- a ÷ b ≠ b ÷ a, if a and b are different.
- (a + b) + c = a + (b + c)
- (a ✖ b ) X c = a ✖ (b ✖ c)
- (a - b) - c ≠ a - (b - c)
- (a ÷ b) ÷ c ≠ a ÷ (b ÷ c)
- a ✖ (b + c) = a ✖ b + a ✖ c
- a ✖ (b- c) = a ✖ b - a ✖ c
- Division by 0 is not defined.
