Use the digits 9,0,3, and 2 without repetition,and make the greatest and the smallest 4-digit numbers.- 6th class
The given digits written in descending order are 9,3,2,0.
To obtain the greatest number,we write 9 in the thousands place,next smaller digit 3 in the hundreds place and so on.
.: The greatest number we get is 9320.
The given digits written in ascending order are 0,2,3,9.
To obtain the smallest number,we write the smallest digit in the thousands place.
Here 0 is the smallest digit,but it cannot be written on the extreme left of a number.
So we write 2,the next greater digit in the thousands place and 0 in the hundreds place.
The next digit greater than 2 is written in the tens place and so on.
.:     The smallest number we obtain is 2039.
