1.All counting numbers are natural numbers.
2. Natural numbers start from 1. So, 1 is called the smallest or the least natural number.
3. There is no end to natural numbers.
4. Whole numbers start from 0. So, 0 is the smallest or the least natural number.
5. Decimal numbers & Fractions are not natural numbers.
6. Each of the symbols 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, & 9 is called a digit.
7. The place value of a digit in a number depends on its position in the number, but its face value remains the same, wherever the digit lies.
8. The place & face value of zero in a number is always 0.
9. Every whole number except 0 has one & only one successor & one and only one predecessor.
10. The number 0 has only a successor but no predecessor in the whole number system.
11. The successor of an even number is odd & the successor of an odd number is even.
12. The predecessor of an even number is odd & the predecessor of an odd number is even.
13.There is no whole number between 0 and 1 and 1 = 0 + 1
14. Two is one more than one, three is one more than two, four is one more than three and so on.
