A man went to a market with Rs 500 in his pocket. He purchased rice at Rs 150, wheat at Rs 200, vegetables at Rs 100 & spent Rs 10 on transportation. How much money was left in his pocket?
Solution:
The man's total expenditure
= Rs 150 + Rs 200 + Rs 100 + Rs 10 = Rs 460
Hence,
the required amount of money which was left in his pocket
=Rs 500 - Rs 460 = Rs 40.
